I am a lecturer in the American Sign Language program at the University of Iowa and a PhD candidate at George Mason University in the department of History and Art History. My dissertation project, With Eloquent Fingers He PreachedThe Episcopal Mission to the Deaf, traces the development of the Church Mission to Deaf-Mutes, an Episcopal organization that grew in size and prominence between 1850 and 1920. I study digital history, nineteenth- and twentieth-century American religious histories, and deaf history.

My work is available on Github and on my Digital Projects page. I am on twitter at @jannellelegg . Contact me at jannellelegg (at) gmail.com.
